Great comments, James! Evangelicals (as a body) seem to not want to give mainline Protestants or LGBTQ individuals respect for 1) being a fellow Brother in Christ; and 2) that we have arduously studied the same Bible that they have (but have come up with different interpretations). I suppose all of us humans suffer from pride.
