Hi James. Thanks so much for pointing out several disturbing facts. Out gay men virtually never get nominated for an Oscar when their role is as a gay man. Let's hope that Coleman Domingo will actually win an Oscar for his riveting performance in "Rustin" (and, shoot, he should have also been nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar for his terrific performance in "The Color Purple").

There is a myriad of reasons why gays choose to stay closeted -- certainly legitimate fear of harm is one such reason. Let's hope that gay actors will soon have the confident strength to be awarded an Oscar for a brilliant acting performance -- even when they are "acting" as a gay man.
