Tamara, thanks so very much for sharing your perspective of mystification that LGBTQ individuals of Christian faith can stay with the inherent “religious power brokers” who malign their very existence. Such is the case for oh so many. As for me, I have left my evangelical denomination and now attend a protestant church that affirms not only LGBTQ individuals, but also gay marriage and every other form of equality with straights. My hope is that more Christian churches would come onboard this progressive, all-equal, family of Christ. Thank you for your very kind words about me, and I certainly respect your choice to eschew Christianity. For me, my love for Jesus is real and permanent; my love for Christian denominations (i.e., the religion, not Jesus) is tenuous, frustrated, and nonetheless kindly. Such great words, Tamara!
