Thanks for the question, Sylvia. Currently, gay people cannot hold "positions of leadership" in many ( if not most) evangelical Protestant churches. For example, I specifically know of one man who is extremely musically talented, yet is barred from being a music minister because he is gay. Same thing for a gay man who was a children's minister. These men lost their jobs (and wasted their talents) simply because they are gay.
